We're getting ready to end our Shabbat at Kibbutz Deganya by doing Havdallah and get on the bus to Jerusalem. We all had a nice day of relaxing at the beautiful and extremely hot kibbutz, which included getting up super late (we've missed you, sleep), swimming in the pool at the kibbutz, and walking over to a beach on the kinneret. Jonathan masterfully negotiated his way into getting us cheap entry to the beach and waterpark, and of course as soon as we got back we all decided to go swimming again. We ended off the day with an hour long session where we got to decompress not only about what we've seen so far, but the bombings in the south and what we plan to do with the skills we've already learned when we get back home. Hope everyone else had as great of a shabbat as us.

We're on our way!
Hi from NY!
Okay so we came off the plane after a six hour flight and then we step outside to breathe in the New York air and its 60 degrees F outside. A lot of us dressed for Israel--tank tops and flip flops--but its all cloudy and windy! We take this little bus to the Sheraton hotel to have lunch/dinner, and right as we pull into the hotel driveway, we see a huge black tarp, covering a suspicious lump. Then we spot the garbage trucks parked in the lot adjacent. Oh my gosh, its a garbage dump next door! As we step out of the bus the smell is overwhelming and we all rush into the hotel. Its a little warmer in the hotel and we have some snazzy food and water to fill us up for the next flight. As we type this we are waiting in the hotel to go on our next flight. Everyone is REALLY looking forward to this next flight (not). We are all tired and want to be on the beautiful Tel Aviv beaches already, soaking in the sun. Its so close! But there is a 10 hour long torture session (aka plane ride) between. We are all super excited to go to Israel; its definitely going to be an awesome trip! :)
